Stone Age Cave Art

When we think of Stone Age art, we often think of beautiful cave paintings of deer, bear and bison. However, findings of this kind of cave art are incredibly rare in Britain, due to the small number of caves. That said, in 2003, archaeologists discovered over 80 engravings and reliefs at Creswell Crags in Derbyshire, some of which are believed to be from the Stone Age.

In Britain, Stone Age rock art called cup and ring was more common.
