KS2
- Why do businesses need to look after their employees?
- How does Fairtrade help farmers and families around the world?
- How can we make a positive contribution in our community?
- Track the journey of tea/coffee from where it’s grown to where we buy it. Research the current Fairtrade logo, design your own logo to represent the ethos of Fairtrade.
- Design a school campaign to encourage people to reduce food waste and share resources.
KS3
- Should businesses get involved in times of national crisis? What should they do?
- Why is it important for businesses to think about the environment?
- Research how M&S contributed to the war effort during the Second World War and present your findings.
- Design a ‘Plan A for Schools’ with three commitments on energy, waste, or sustainability.
KS4
- Class debate – “Profit should come before responsibility in business.”
- Who benefits from CSR – customers, workers, or the planet? In what ways?
- Look at the YoungMinds website and the M&SxYoungMinds campaign. Create a campaign (poster, video script, social media, merchandise) for a mental health initiative.
- Who should decide which charity a business will support? Customers, staff, management or someone else?
