The Discovery Centre Museum Store, Leeds

Museums typically have many more objects in storage then they do on display. This is called the museum's collection.  Museums have a collection policy, which helps curators decide what objects to add to the collection.

All objects need to be stored correctly to prevent them becoming damaged. Temperature, humidity and light levels are all closely controlled, and pests such as moths are monitored and eliminated if found.
