Slate Roof Tiles on the Control Room at the National Coal Mining Museum

The roof of the Control Room at the National Coal Mining Museum is constructed out of slate tiles. Slate is a good material for tiles, as it is highly water-resistant and an effective insulator, keeping the inhabitants of the building warm and dry.
