This photo shows the M&S Penny Bazaar on Commercial Road, Portsmouth in 1927. The M&S Penny Bazaars were an innovative high street presence, inviting customers to come in to browse and to inspect the goods on open display, unlike most other shops where the goods were held behind the counter.
