Grinton how Mill Smelting Hearth

A composite of four photographs. This is Grinton How Mill Smelting hearth. The hole at floor level is the 'tuyere' hole where air was pumped into the hearth from bellows, the upper hole is the exit to the flue where fumes from the smelting process were drawn away.
