Jewish Tefillin used by Hyman Rutstein in the First World War

Jewish tefillin (small leather box) used by Hyman Rutstein in the First World War. Jewish men from the age of Bar Mitzvah (13) wear the two tefillin during morning prayers. They contain verses from the Torah on scrolls of parchment and are worn in remembrance of God bringing the children of Israel out of Egypt
