Hair

Audio dramatisation adapted from the memoirs of POW, Phylactis Aristokleous.

"I looked in my small mirror, and what did I see? The water had turned into ice on my hair. One of my men supplied me with a shampoo, having exchanged it for a chocolate. I washed my hair once or twice with this shampoo. Within a week, I noticed that my hair, began to fall out in clumps and thin out. I feared I was going to lose all my hair. I immediately threw the shampoo away but couldn't explain if the sudden hair loss was due to the chemical content of the shampoo, the climatic conditions, or a lack of vitamins caused by our poor diet.
