Creating a Rag Rug on a Rug Frame

Making a rag rug on a traditional frame. A piece of sacking is used as the base of the rug.  Pieces old, worn out clothes were cut up into strips and pushed into the sacking with wooden pegs.  Rag rugs helped to protect against cold stone floors at a time when there was no central heating.
