History Around Hull

When was the house built and why was it built on this location?

It was built in the 1660’s, we don’t know exactly, by Hugh Lister. He was the fourth son of John Lister who would entertain Charles I earlier. This area was a prime location for businesses, merchants from the 18th century would look out from their house and watch all their cargo being loaded and unloaded on the river Humber.
