Animals outside a camp hut

Rabbits and a tame bird outside one of the camp huts. POWs often kept animals in the camp, creating small routines of care that brought comfort and lifted spirits. The exact location is unknown but the photograph was taken during Alexander Fairley’s captivity. Image © Ian Fairley
