WW2 at Lotherton Hall

What was the Blitz?

German bombers attacked cities such as London regularly from September 1940 until May 1941. London in particular was bombed almost every night for eleven weeks, which resulted in one third of the capital beng distroyed during this time. On the first night alone of the London bombings 2000 people were killed or wounded. Women were very important during this time, providing vital liquids and food for the busy fire fighters and other men helping with the chaos. They also cared for people who lost their homes, belongings and even family in the bombings.
