What was Wimbledon like in the past?

How did Wimbledon develop from when the Windmill was built?

Small groups of the class use one of the maps to locate the Windmill and to pick out all the features of the surrounding area that they think might be a reason why there is a Windmill on that site.

For younger children, cards could be made to match to the features of the map.

The maps can be used to trace the development of Wimbledon and its expansion.
