Toys from the Past

Dolls

This first doll was made in 1860 which makes her about 150 years old. She would have been expensive to buy when she was made. She is not made out of plastic like dolls today. She is made of wax.

The sailor doll is made of wax as well.

The doll on the chair is also very old. She is made of wood.

The three dolls together are wooden too. You can move their arms because they are fastened on with pins.

There are eleven dolls in the museum. Ten are school children and one is the teacher.

Do you think one of these in the photograph is the teacher?
