Mystery Utensil
This object has been made in the shape of the food it was used to serve. The blade is flat and has been highly decorated by a skillful craftsman.
The object made from Old Sheffield Plate, was probably made in Sheffield, around 1782. At this time people were making very specific items of cutlery for use with particular food. To use the wrong implement would be considered very rude.
Can you guess what it would be used for?
