The Art of Cloisonné

Soldering

Once the copper strips have been glued onto the exterior of the object, the objects are put into the oven.

The high temperatures, (of about 1,000 degrees Centigrade!) make the copper wires fix firmly to the copper body.

Once taken out of the oven, the objects must then be left to cool before the next step, enamel filling, can take place.  The object will then be fired again to fix the enamel.
