The wax model is then removed from the mould. The sculptor will then work on this to make sure everything is just right.
After this extra tubes of wax are attached to the sculpture. These are called runners and risers. They will let the molten bronze flow evenly around the mould and will allow gases to escape.
A polystyrene cup is added at the top. When it is coated with ceramic, this will become the pouring point for the bronze.
