Music at the Mill

Introduction

The journey has a number of audio clips within it, which can be downloaded by students and used, using music editing software, to develop their own pieces, representing themes from Industry and Mill Life.

If you don't have the software, try downloading 'Audacity' which is free software that can be downloaded if you follow the link at the bottom of this page.

Armley Mills was used as inspiration for a pilot project in 2005 by Art Forms and a number of Year 7 Students from Leeds.  The students collected the audio clips from various places around the Mill using Mini Disc Players.

These clips have now been uploaded for you to use with students in schools- just click on the link to the audio gallery on the left.

This Learning Journey is a developmental journey which we hope to add to over time.  In particular, we would love to have more examples of students work to showcase so please send them in using the feedback facility at the bottom of this page!
