Description:

The Trust was formed in 1993, set up with charitable status and with the aim of preservation, restoration, operation and display of locomotives and in particular the Princess Royal Class.

The Trust's 'West Shed Experience' is home to a small collection of historic steam locomotives and railway coaches, brought to life by audio-visual displays. Exhibits include Sir William Stanier’s express passenger steam locomotives – 6233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’ (the current Royal Train steam locomotive) and 46203 'Princess Margaret Rose’, plus a 1920's Royal Saloon and 1912 railway testing vehicle - the no.1 dynamometer car.
