Description:

A place where you can wander and imagine how grand this priory once was from its walls, still laid out in local sandstone. Here lived Robin Hood's black monks of St Mary's priory. Their million pound business made Barnsley into a market town and brought rival priors to fight over its wealth.

Today it is a peaceful picnic spot with stunning countryside views.
