Description:

There’s always something fun for families to do at Manchester Art Gallery and it’s all for free.  There are over 25,000 objects spanning six centuries in our collection.

 

Manchester Art Gallery is a member of the Renaissance North West Early Years and Family Learning Network and the MAGPIE initiative, a partnership between Manchester Children’s Services, Manchester schools and five museums and galleries.

Learning Programmes:

Our Key Stage programme has workshops linked to QCA schemes of work, embracing innovative combinations of dance, drama, science, numeracy, literacy, storytelling and a vast range of visual arts.

 

Our teacher-training courses focus on themes relating to the permanent collection and special exhibitions.

 

Primary School Workshops include:

Victorian Manchester - Ford Madox Brown's painting Work is brought to life in this exciting workshop  and interactive aimed at KS2 pupils.

 

Secondary School workshops include topics such as:

Thinking Visually; Capturing Nature; Portraits and Identify; Shakespearean Stories
