​Leeds City Council Parks and Countryside service manages around 4000 hectares of green space across Leeds.

Parks and Countryside staff provide education in ‘the outdoor classroom’ for thousands of school children each year. This includes curriculum-linked sessions for school groups themed around all aspects of the local environment, focussing mainly on wildlife and history.

Learning Programmes:
Outdoor education sessions popular with schools include learning about the Anglo-Saxons at Temple Newsam farm, pond dipping at Middleton Park and bug hunting at Otley Chevin.
