Learning Outcomes

Knowledge and understanding
This resource can provide a deeper understanding of where designers find inspiration for their work and how they develop an idea into a finished product.

Attitudes and values
The resource can challenge preconceptions about museums by exploring how designers use museum collections to find inspiration for their work.

Enjoyment, inspiration and creativity
This resource will support learners to expand their ideas about finding inspiration for their work and how they can develop an original design. It can be used, along with other Design for Life resources, to support project work in schools and community centres.

Activity, behaviour, progression
The resource explores what designers do, how they make a living, and how they develop strong design skills and good practice. The suggested activities support development of skills in speaking, listening, reflective learning and independent enquiry.
