Visiting St. Mary´s Abbey   

The remains of St. Mary's Abbey are situated in the Museum Gardens, York.  The gardens are open daily from dawn until dusk.   Admission to the Museum Gardens is FREE.

 

You can find out more about St. Mary's Abbey by visiting the nearby Yorkshire Museum.  The museum includes part of the abbey remains which have been covered over, as well as interpretation of the site and its history. Several objects are also on show, including floor tiles, medeival glass and stone carvings from the abbey.  The museum is open from 10am-5pm daily.
