Teachers' notes

Investigate Science is a set of resources designed for science clubs. It has been designed for children aged 9 - 13
Investigate has 7 themes:
  • The Kitchen
  • The Circus
  • The Garden
  • The Body
  • Space
  • Secret Agent
  • POP!
  • Art
  • Sport Science
  • Space 2
Each theme contains an range of experiments and information for you to carry out.

Themes: Scientific Inquiry, Forces, Energy, Measurement, Space, Human Body, The Environment, Materials and their Properties

 

Learning Objectives

  • To explore scientific properties and facts about everyday materials.
  • To develop techniques related to scientific inquiry and problem solving skills.
  • To apply mathematical process to assist with the solving of real life problems.
  • To develop and use the design process in a practical context.
  • To use scientific knowledge to explain the unexpected.
This learning journey was created as part of the Creative Minds Project in-conjunction with Eureka! The Museum for Children. Creative Minds aims to provide young people with learning opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths (S.T.E.M.) using Museums, Libraries and Archives.
