Some other interesting objects found in this cave, in the Kirkdale Cave
are these little white pellets. These are what as known as coprolites,
or fossil poo and we know that these are from hyenas. This hyena poo.
They are white and they have been analysed and we know that they are
very rich in a chemical called phosphate. Now this is interesting
because phosphate is what makes up bone so hyenas that ate these must
have had a lot of bone material in their diet.
