Tudor Led Sessions in Hull
The Hull History Centre offers the following Tudor-themed Led Sessions:
Henry’s Hull (2 hour)
We also have plans to expand this programme in the future to make use of extensive collections from that era. Why not combine visits to both sites? Hull Museums offers a number of sessions for studying Tudors.

The Tudors: Painting the Past (2 hour)
‘Henry’s Hull’ (KS2)
2 hour led session at Hull History Centre (from May 2010)
History, Geography, Citizenship, Literacy
Explore life in Tudor Hull through;
- problem solving investigations with maps and documents
- putting yourself in the shoes of Hull’s Tudor Monks facing decisions during the Pilgrimage of Grace
- examining documents written at the time (by Henry VIII in some cases)
- practising reading and writing Tudor style
These activities are designed to improve key skills and support the National Curriculum. Using Hull’s unique archival and local studies collections, participants will use communication, independent enquiry, map reading, teamwork, creative thinking, reflective learning and many more skills to gain an understanding of life in Tudor Hull.
Cost: Free introductory sessions of this until Dec 2010.
