Science Fiction

The genre Science Fiction relates to the developments of science and technology.

Science Fiction films can be far from the truth and others can be believable portrayals of life in the future. The H G Wells novel ' War of the Worlds' can be described as Science Fiction as the story is about aliens trying to take over the planet.  Other examples could be Star Wars, Alien, ET, Signs and The Matrix.

Metropolis was one of the first Science Fiction films created. The black and white silent film was released in 1927. Created by Fritz Lang, a famous Austrian director, it was the most expensive silent film of that time, costing around 150 million in today's money.
