Engaging Young People with Artworks

Photo-tour of Sheffield and a new space for the Youth Forum

The Youth Forum worked with the School of Architecture and photographer Richard Hanson taking photographs of architecture around the city of Sheffield. These photos were collated and presented in a book, to create a walking tour of Sheffield from Millennium Gallery to the Arts Tower. The forum also worked with the School of Architecture and artist Lucy Harrison to transform an old office space in the Millennium Gallery. This is now a space for Youth Forum to use as well as other internal and external users.

Lucy worked with the Youth Forum to create a link between their space in Millennium Gallery and their work in Graves Gallery. This was developed through vinyl banners made for the Millennium space featuring details from the Graves Gallery collection. These details then formed part of a quiz for visitors to try to identify which work they came from.
