Creative Writing at Sandal Castle

Introduction

This Learning Journey has been designed to encourage teachers to access the wealth of information available at Sandal Castle, Wakefield.

The teacher's pack provides detailed step-by-step guidance on how to make a visit to the Castle, as well as information on both pre- and post-visit activities.

The Journey itself encourages children and students to investigate the evidence available though the ruins, documentary evidence and excavated finds, in order to produce a piece of creative writing or performance poem.

Included in the downloads are a number of worksheets, background information sheets and images, which can be used at the site, or in the classroom.
