Commission Impossible

The silversmith

Jocelyn Burton was the successful silversmith for this commission.  She is based in London and works for a wide variety of clients.  You can ask Jocelyn questions about her craft in the video gallery.

Jocelyn trained at Sir John Cass College in London.  Her career was launched dramatically as a student in 1967 when she won the De Beers International Design Award for the design of diamond jewellery.

Jocelyn Burton's work is to be found in the V&A Museum, St Paul's Cathedral, Goldsmiths' Hall, 10 Downing Street and the palace of Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum of Dubai.  Jocelyn has completed commissions for many of the Worshipful City Companies, also for members of the Royal Families in this country and abroad.

In 2003 Jocelyn Burton became the first woman to win the City & Guilds top award, the Prince Philip Medal.

Ask Jocelyn questions in the videos below.
