Dragon Fan

A silk dragon fan illustrated with bats and clouds, 1890-1910

The fan is made of silk with a five clawed dragon clutching a flaming pearl in gold thread with bats and clouds above a mountain peak with waves. The bamboo handle is painted gold and the tassle ornament is a miniature boat with passengers which has been carved out of a peach kernel.
